➳ May Resilience - Focusing on Gratitude

Image
MAY RESILIENCE WEEK TWO Focusing on Gratitude I am not a fan of people saying "Well it could be worse" or "Some people have it worse than you do". In my opinion, it is very insensitive considering each of us has our own struggles. Some struggle more than others based on different events. At the same time, it is our job to help ourselves heal and we are the only person that can help us through this process. Gratitude is part of the process to be thankful for things we are happy we have or grateful for what is still there. The purpose of gratitude isn't to compare our situation or make us feel guilty. It is to help us refocus on things that we can still be grateful for. So, for example, I went through a very hard grieving process when my cat Mr. Sully passed away. In fact, it has been over a year and I still feel the pain from his loss. At the same time to help me balance my pain to be sure I can get up and go I try to tell myself I am grateful I have my other

➳ May Resilience - Peaks and Valleys

Image
MAY RESILIENCE WEEK TWO Peaks and Valleys This is an interesting project idea to outline your life terrain structure. This project could help you focus on areas that need more work with resilience in specific areas of your life. We are going to do draw some mountains, flat lands, and valleys. This will be designed in a timeline format. Draw out your life in the timeline format using mountains, flat land, and valleys to show your life struggles and perks. Mountain: Highlight of your life where you have succeeded, accomplished something great, overcame hardship. It can be a small mountain or big mountain for something you worked hard to achieve. Flat Land: These are generally between the mountains and valleys. They are times in your life where you are in the middle. Keep these parts brief and short. The Valley: Valleys will be the times in your life you struggled and felt some hardship. They can be very deep valleys or mild low valley depending on how deep the event impacted you. Ta

=^..^= Getting Kitty Ready for Summer

Summertime Preparation Kitty Wellness and Health Summertime brings a lot of health risk for the kitty in/outdoors. It doesn't matter if kitty is only indoors there are still risks. Fleas, ticks and parasites can still find their way into the home. We try our best to keep our homes clean and safe from risks; however, we have limited ability to keep our home foolproof. Here are some tips to get kitty ready for summer Fresh cool water If your kitty is indoors then the water supply will be good. If your kitty is outdoor you need to provide fresh clean cool water for kitty daily. Out of the sun Kitty still needs a place out of the sun to cool off during hot summer months. Some cats enjoy a nice cool place on the patio. I have put up a mister fan for my dogs during the hot months. If you are struggling with indoor heat use fans to help keep kitty cool. Leave Kitty at home Do not travel with your kitty and leave them in the car during warm weather. If you are tra

Getting Puppy Ready for Summer Doggy Wellness and Health Summer is coming and your puppy is probably totally excited. Summer is a fun time for a lot of family dogs because the kids are home more, family spending more time outdoors, and puppy is going out more on trips. Make sure to keep the summer safe for your doggy this summer. Here are some tips to help you get ready for summer. Leave doggy at home Warm weather means hot car. It is best to leave your doggy at home. If traveling with your dog bring bottled water and leave the air conditioner on. Cracking the window open is just not good enough. It is also not safe for dogs to ride in the cabin of the truck. I would not suggest kenneling dogs in the heat in the back of a pickup truck. Paw pads are not shoes The heat also means hot cement and pavement. Pads on dog feet are not heat proof. Always test the heat of the pavement while walking your dog. Water and shade If your dog wants to spend more time outsid

☼ Improve Your Environment Naturally!

Image
Go Natural and Improve your Environment For the month of May, we are encouraging everyone to replace toxin elements in the house with plants. Using essential oils, room spray, or plugin? Instead, fill your areas with plants. Plants not only clean your air but put out natural scents without any form of diffusers which is healthier for you and your pets. Using air purifier? Instead, add plants around the house and get natural quality clean air. ➳ May Resilience - Butterfly Effect

Image
MAY RESILIENCE Butterfly Effect The Transformation of Our Pain This month we are going to focus on the past, present, and future how our life challenges can be transformed. The Caterpillar Life: During the caterpillar life we are wandering through trying to prepare for the transformation becoming a butterfly. Sometimes we go through some really rough stuff before we get to the final stage. We will think of the caterpillar stage as challenging events that caused us stress or pain. The Cocoon Stage: During this stage, we are working through the process of pain, rejection, failure, and trauma. How we walk through this process is based on the actions and choices we make. This does not mean we always recover, forget, or never feel pain again from past events. The goal is to discover how we can transform the situation so we can move on to the next stage in life. The Butterfly (Final Transformation): When we work through our pain, rejection, failure, and trauma we go through a transform

OCCUPATIONAL WELLNESS Focusing on Improving Your Life For those that work in our outside the home, it is important that we take some time to focus on our occupational wellness. For the month of May, we will work together to improve your life in the workforce. What is Occupational Wellness? Occupational wellness is not a single definition or idea. Overall it is the balance between work and leisure time while balancing workload and stress. There are ways you can limit your work stress and keep your occupational wellness at an optimum level. The Dimension of Wellness When focusing on our wellness we are trying to keep a healthy balance in our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It also includes social, emotional, environmental, occupational, intellectual, and physical wellness. Things That Affect Our Occupational Wellness 1. Work environment and design 2. Work hours and time off allowed 3. Lack of social support 4. The conflict between work and family commitments 5. Fairn
